I know this is being written techinically one day after veterans day but one of my clients wrote me a nice letter that I thought would be nice to share. The relevance to Veterans day is my clients son is in the army and just went away to Iraq and the video I did for them two years ago is creating new value. Read this and see why
Jason,
” I wanted to thank you SOOOO VERY MUCH, Jason, for what you did for me by sending me the raw footage of George and Nicole’s wedding. You will not believe this, but it came in the mail the day after my son, Logan came home on leave before his deployment to Iraq. Yes, he is now over in Iraq fighting this war and left for Iraq back on October 6th. I thought he was so far away when he was in California and now I can’t even explain the feeling I have when I think of him half way around the world! I only get to hear from him by e-mails every once in a while and have gotten only 2 very short telephone calls! We did, however, get to spend 10 glorious days with Logan from September 13 through September 23rd before we had to make that dreaded trip back to the airport to put him on yet another plane to leave for many many months. This one was especially hard though knowing that he was going to be going to Iraq and not knowing for sure if or when we will be able to see him again.
Anyway, Jason, I just wanted to tell you again what a wonderful and compassionate person I think you are for taking your time to go through everything when I know you are a busy person too to find some extra footage of a very special day to me just to bring me some happiness. I cannot express enough how very special that was for me. The same week I had to put Logan back on that plane, his twin brother Lance also moved out of my house and, of course, Nicole is married and gone, and then to top everything off my husband had left on a hunting trip too, so when I took Logan back to the airport I came back to a completely empty house for the very first time and oh how lonely it was Jason. I can’t even begin to tell you. So after I could bring myself to walk back into my empty house, I sat down that night and watched that dvd. Yes, I cried and cried, but then I felt better. It was good for me to get out all of my pent-up feelings that I was trying to keep all bottled up inside because I didn’t want to ruin Logan’s time at home with a weepy mother all the time. That’s not what I wanted him to remember as he went off to war, so I just sat back and watched that wonderful wedding video that you created for us again and silently thanked you for what you did for me.
SO, JASON, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME PERSONALLY. YOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL PERSON AND ONE OF A KIND!! I WISH THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH A BIG HEART LIKE YOU AND THEN MAYBE WE WOULDN’T BE IN ALL THESE STUPID WARS. GOD BLESS YOU.
And, finally, I want you to know if I ever hear of anyone wanting a videographer, I will certainly be giving them your name so that hopefully, in some small fashion, I will be able to repay you. It would do my heart good to know that I did something for you too!! ”
Take Care Jason,
D Benoist
This was the second video created by myself and the SCC Foundation to pay tribute to the donors who decide to give scholarship funds to students. It played at the annual Scholarship breakfast and received a very good response. Hope you enjoy it also.
This weekend I had the opportunity to work with Callie and Gordon for their same day edit. They along with their wedding party were alot of fun. One of the coolest parts in this same day edit for me was the groom and his groomsmen doing the gangster pose set up by Reams photography. Overall it was a great day.

I was asked to create this promo for the 2010 SCC Film Festival. It showcases brief shots from many student produced films. Those interested in participating in next years festival must submit their films by April 15, 2010 and be registered for a class.

Wow its only May and theĀ 2009 video scheduleĀ is filling up fast. Since the summer is almost completely booked I thought I might give a heads up to people who have fall events on the horizon.
Best advise I can give is book as early as possible.
